Geneva Marlene Waynick, 92 years of age, of Dickson, TN, passed away on June 21, 2023.
Geneva was born April 25, 1931, in Dickson County, TN, to the late Arthur and Callie (Edwards) Lamastus.
She was known for always being happy and smiling. She was given the nickname “Smiley” at one of her previous jobs; however, her family nickname was ‘Pete.” She loved to dance, and at one time was a buck dancer. She enjoyed shopping and eating lunch at Donna’s.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Jackson Dotson; children, Arthur Leroy Dotson and Betty Jean Martin; brothers, Basil, Dudley “Dud,” J.C. and Weaver Lamastus; sisters, Margie Tidwell, Doris Byrum, Florence Burgess, O. Nadine Byrum, and Betty Ruth Parchment; grandchildren, Robbie Sensing, Ronald Wayne Neal, and Russel Dale Dotson.
Those left to cherish her memory are children, Jesse (Tonya) Dotson, Jerry (Linda) Dotson, and Marie Newberry; grandchildren, Ronnie Dotson, Cheryl Ralston, Debi and Danny Wall, Crystal Martin, Jesse (Tammy) Dotson, Jesse (Jenny) Martin, Shane (Nikki) Blanks, Josey Higdon, Jessica (Mike) Sarlo, Ashley (Josh) Bickford, and Josh Claiborne; great-grandchildren, Gabriella Surrat, Tristan and Noah Bowdoin, Haylie and Jed Dotson, Tanner Wanamaker, Ashley, Alexis, Austin, and Andrew Dotson, Karris, Rylynn, Brodee, and Coleman Martin, Colton Hobbs, Alana, Mckenzie, Gavin, and Dalton Sarlo, Jonathan and Jaxon Blanks, and Jamison and Lillie Bickford, and Cassidy Claiborne; and one great-great-grandchild, Carter Wanamaker.
Visitation with the family will be Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Dickson Funeral Home from 4:30 until 8:00 p.m.; and will resume on Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1;00 p.m. Funeral service will be Sunday, June 25, 2023, in the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Dickson, TN.
