Joshua Donald “Josh” Farmer, age 36, of Dickson, TN, passed away on October 22, 2025.
Josh was born on September 25, 1989, in Lebanon, TN. He loved God with all his heart and lived every day to show that love to others. He adored his wife, Dava, and their three children, Charlie, Dani, and Asher, his parents Donald and Sharon. As his family was his whole world.
Josh was everyone’s Superman — a man of faith, strength, and heart, who also happened to be one of the funniest people you could ever meet. His laugh was contagious, his smile could light up a room, and his hugs could make the world feel right again. From an early age, he made it his mission to be Superman, always with a touch of humor.
He had a deep desire to serve God by helping others, and for over a year he devoted his Sunday afternoons to feeding the homeless. Though he didn’t have superhuman powers to fly or shoot beams of heat, through the love and grace of God, Josh embodied the heart of a true hero by helping the oppressed, being a man of action, and living with a strong sense of duty, compassion, and righteousness.
He was Superman to many, but above all, he was a Super-husband, a Super-dad, and a Super-son — in that order — always putting God first and his family right beside him.
Josh will be forever loved and missed by his wife, Dava Farmer, and their three children, Charlie, Dani, and Asher; his parents, Donald and Sharon Farmer; his siblings, Donna Walpole, Brian Cartwright, and Whitney Coles; his father-in-law, David Garton; nieces and nephews; and many loving aunts and uncles.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Compassion Church, 3525 Hwy 70 W, Dickson, TN 37055. Interment will follow in Clifton Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. https://taylorsince1909.com
