Jessie Colleen Jackson, 81 years of age, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2026, at Bethany Health & Rehab in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was born on November 8, 1944, in Claiborne County, Tennessee, to the late Alva William and Exie Isabelle (Hammitt) Brooks.
Jessie was a cherished soul known for her unwavering kindness and loving spirit. Jessie’s life was a testament to the enduring power of hard work and love, as she was devoted to God and her family. She carried strength and resilience into her adult life, dedicating 39 years of exemplary service to Nashville Wire. Jessie’s love for the simple pleasures in life was infectious. She had a profound passion for horses and her beloved dog, Rowdy, who was a constant companion that brought her immense joy. Her evenings were often spent in the glow of the television screen, watching the classic westerns that she adored, with John Wayne as her favorite actor. Music was another source of solace and inspiration for Jessie. The Gaithers, with their harmonious gospel melodies, were particularly close to her heart. Their music was a reflection of her own faith, which was a cornerstone of her existence. Jessie was a Godly woman whose spirituality was evident in her every action and interaction. Her faith guided her through life’s challenges. She approached life with a gentle heart and a warm smile, leaving a trail of positivity and compassion wherever she went.
A Graveside service will be Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Stuart Cemetery in Burns, TN, with Bro. Nathan Batson and Bro. James McGowan officiating.
