Jimmy Grant Miller, age 85, of Dickson, TN peacefully passed away at home on March 4, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Jimmy was born in Dickson County, TN on August 21, 1939, to the late Clinton D. Miller and Ocie M. Lewis Miller.
He had worked throughout his life in construction. Jimmy was a 33rd Degree Mason, being a member for 60 years. He was also an Ordained Baptist Minister and member of Slayden Baptist Church.
Jimmy loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and farm work. On most days, you could see Jimmy sitting on the front porch, waving at the people driving by. Mrs. Dorothy Jarman Miller, his wife of over 66 years, would always be seen by his side. Jimmy loved getting together with friends and “chewing the cud”, especially down at Mason’s Boat Dock around the “lying tree.”
Above all, Jimmy was a wonderful husband and loving father and will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rodney Blake Miller and Billy Joe Miller and his sisters, Rebecca Ellis, Loretta Jarman, and Janice Trotter.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy E. Jarman Miller of Dickson, TN, children, Teresa McFall (Dan) of Dickson, TN, Pam Walden (Pete) of Manchester, TN, Jimmy R. Miller of Dickson, TN, Grandchildren, Jennifer Dickey, Travis Walden, Kristen Helm, Tyler Walden, Lauren McCallister, Hunter Miller, Great-grandchildren, Jackson Dickey, Mackenna Dickey, Tritt McCallister, Halle McCallister, Raven Helm, Jordyn Miller, Oliver Helm, sister, Sheron Simpson, brother, Harold D. Miller, numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11 AM from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Bro. Thomas Southerland will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning beginning at 8 AM until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Jarman & Welker Cemetery. https://taylorsince1909.com
