Funeral services for Joe Howard Joslin, age 86 of Charlotte, will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2021, from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Caleb Wray officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Joslin died Monday, August 9, 2021, at Horizon Medical Center. For those desiring, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Dickson County.
A life-long resident of Dickson County, Joe was born August 21, 1934, to the late William Thomas and Mary Margaret Shelton Joslin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Shelton Joslin.
Joe served his country with service in the United States Army during the Korean War. On his return home, he continued his lifelong occupation of farming. Joe loved his family and working on his farm; the outdoors and raising “prize” tomatoes, which he shared with family and friends. He had a special love for animals, especially his beef cattle and the rescue dogs he adopted, most especially his beloved “Pepper.”
Survivors include his son, Tim Holder (Cinda), South Lake, TX; his two daughters, Jenae Hayes (Gary), Burns, TN, and Jana Joslin Lake, Fuquay-Varina, NC; his six grandchildren, Heather Gardow (Doug), Megan Tanner (Gregory), Leah Balitsky (John Michael), Luke Hayes, Justin Lake, and Marissa Lake; and three great-grandchildren, Harper Gardow, Everett Gardow, and Reese Tanner.
