Joyce Alyne (Bennett) Gass passed from this life early on July 31st, surrounded by her family and love.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Hyeon Hong officiating. Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 at the Taylor Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and on Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.

Mrs. Gass, a longtime resident of White Bluff, was 76 years of age. Originally from Sewanee, Tennessee, and one of fourteen children, she was preceded in death by her parents Mack S. and Clara Belle Bennett, brothers Joe, Jim, George, Mack Jr, Fred and Charles, and sisters Mary, Dorothy, and Ellen.

Everyone who knew her knows that she was a faithful servant of the Lord, who loved her extended family deeply and enjoyed nothing more than frequent family gatherings. A devoted member of White Bluff United Methodist Church, she actively served in a number of church groups and committees and loved spending time with her large circle of friends. She was always willing to help anyone in need and would spend hours simply listening without judgment. She was truly a rock to so many and she will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Gass is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ralph; children, David (Mary Beth), Wayne (Carole), Deborah Capps (Stephen), Thomas (Andrea), Danny (Kristy), and Amy Brown; fourteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; also surviving is brother, John Bennett, and sisters, Carol Davidson, Linda Stanley and Judy Copeland.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made to Martha’s Group at White Bluff UMC.
