Larry Sims, Jr., 55, passed away on February 27, 2025. He was born on April 8, 1969, in Cleveland, Ohio, to his parents, Larry Sims, Sr., and Louise Harville Sims.
Larry was a hardworking, self-employed mechanic for most of his life. He had a natural talent for fixing anything with an engine and was a true jack of all trades. His love for cars extended beyond work. He especially enjoyed watching demolition derbies.
Above all else, Larry’s greatest joy in life was his family. His late wife, Angela Sims, and their son, Ryder, meant everything to him. He was a devoted husband and father, cherishing every moment with them.
Originally from Ohio, Larry moved to Tennessee in 1968, living most of his life in Dickson, TN, and 4 to 5 years in Hohenwald, closer to Angela’s family.
He is survived by his parents, Larry and Louise Sims, son Ryder Sims, stepdaughters Kayla Hayes and Adrianna Hinson, sister Tina (Kevin) Daugherty, and sister Angela (Adam) Hall, as well as four grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 5, beginning at 1:00 PM in the Downey Cemetery. McDonald Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Sims family.
