Laura Nicole Sweazy Huffstuttler, age 54, of Burns, TN left this world on June 6, 2024, after a short illness.
She was an incredible EMT, caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.
She was born to Scott and Libby Sweazy on September 23, 1969, in Jacksonville. FL.
She graduated high school in Bardstown, KY, marched in the international drum corps with her sister Debbie as part of the color guard, and eventually moved to Douglas, GA where she gave birth to her two daughters Taylor and Cara. There, she pursued her career as a 911 dispatcher which led to her fulfilling role as an EMT for the Nashville Fire Department for 25 years.
Laura was passionate about her work, saved many lives, and is deeply adored by many. Many would call her a straight shooter. Her strength was admirable, her laughter contagious, and words cannot describe the way she touched the hearts of those around her.
Laura is survived by her parents Scott and Libby Sweazy of Dickson, TN, her sister Debbie (Mark) Ritchie, of Raleigh, NC. Daughters Taylor Huffstuttler (Cody Sugg), of Burns, TN, and Cara (Connor) Clinton, of Greensboro, NC, her grandchildren Caimen, Savannah, Ava Sugg, Sailor Clinton, and her fiancé Robert T. Spencer and his daughter Kylie Spencer, of Burns, TN. Nephew Marcus Ritchie and niece Megan Ritchie, of Raleigh, NC.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, June 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. from the Dickson First Methodist Church. Ed White will officiate with other speakers from the Nashville Fire Fighters sharing personal eulogies. Visitation was on Sunday evening at Taylor Funeral Home between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of service. https://taylorsince1909.com
