Margie Burgess Teston, age 89 of Dickson, TN passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024 at the TriStar Horizon Medical Center.
Margie was born on August 20, 1935 in Dickson County. She was a daughter of the late John Presley Burgess and Beatrice Mathis Burgess.
She joined in marriage with Joseph C. Teston on October 13, 1951 in Corinth, MS. Joe was in the U.S. Army for over 20 years and served during the Korean War era. While serving in the military, Joe and Margie lived on base and were stationed in numerous locations.
Margie worked outside the home, but she always considered her most important role to be a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She even fulfilled that role for other family members who had experienced the death of their own parents and grandparents. Margie was a great cook and prepared many meals for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Teston; and two sisters, Mary Ruth Burgess, and Lucille Burgess.
Margie Teston is survived by her children, Barbara Gail McKellar (Michael), Steve Teston (Diane), and Michael Teston (Jana); three grandchildren, Carrie Ann Austin (Abe), Crystal Joy McKellar, Christopher Wayne Teston; great-grandchildren, Johnathan Patrick Neiner (Danielle), Marissa McClanahan, Kirsten McClanahan, Logan Melarahan; great-great-grandchild, Madeline Fortener. Also surviving are numerous extended family members including her honorary children Johnny and Phillip Bear.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 20, 2024 at the Taylor Funeral Home with Jerry Burgess giving her eulogy. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of service. http://taylorsince1909.com
