Mrs. Margie McNew Albright, age 82, of Vanleer, TN died peacefully May 8, 2022 at Signature Health Care in Erin with her family by her side.

Margie was born on January 24, 1940 in the East Tennessee coal mining community of Fork Ridge, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late Ulis and Zula McDowell McNew.

She lived in Vanleer since 1964 when she married Gene Albright. They have been married for 58 years. For many years Margie worked as a machine operator with the Red Cap Industries. Margie was an avid University of Tennessee fan. She was a member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ.

Margie was a faithful Christian who spent her life serving others, leaving them a good example to follow. She worked very hard and was a good steward of what God had provided for her and her family. She fully trusted in God’s promise to prepare an eternal home of bliss for her, and all his children, in Heaven.

Margie is survived by her husband of 58 years; Gene, her daughter; Debbie Albright, her son; Tim Albright all of Vanleer, TN, her two brothers; Wayne McNew and Roy McNew both of Speedwell, TN, her sisters; Lillian Wilson of Speedwell, TN and Shirley Willhite of Martin, TN, granddaughter; Sophie Albright, her sisters-in-law; Barbara Hart and Cathey Harris. Host of nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be conducted Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until time of services. Bro. Steve Baggett, Dr. Bryan McAlister, and Bro. George Caudill will officiate.
