Martin Banks Poynor, age 87, of Burns, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
He was born August 9, 1935, in Franklin, TN.
He retired from Ebbtide Boat Corporation where he worked for many years. Martin enjoyed steel guitar music and played in a band during his younger years. He was a member of Grace Communion Church in Clarksville, TN.
Preceding him in death are his parents Willard and Maxine Poynor and sisters, Sandra Sitton and Jane Martin.
Martin is survived by his wife, Rita, of 56 years; daughter, Michele Mercante (Tony) of Mt. Juliet, TN; son, Matthew Poynor (Marcia) of Dickson, TN; two grandsons, Michael Mercante and Nicholas Mercante; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, February 27th, at Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson, 214 N Main Street, Dickson, TN. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 pm with service following at 4:00 pm. http://taylorsince1909.com
