Naomi Ruth Kaldenberg Vanden Oever, age 89, of White Bluff, TN, changed her address to Heaven on New Years Day, 2025. At the time of her passing, she was at the home of her eldest daughter Melody in Esdaile, Wisconsin. Since the passing of her beloved husband, Loran, of sixty-five years she has been under the loving care of all her children.

Naomi Ruth, formerly of Otley/Pella, Iowa, was born to Theodore and Bessie (Downing) Kaldenberg on December 3, 1935. Naomi Ruth was raised in Iowa, where she attended elementary school in Otley before graduating from Pella High School. Later in life, she continued her education and received her degree as a registered LPN.

She married Loran Wayne Vanden Oever on July 2, 1954, at the Otley Reformed Church in Otley, Iowa, and their union was blessed with seven children. Loran and Naomi Ruth lovingly raised their children in Pella, IA for nearly 35 years and in retirement, they relocated to Tennessee. Naomi Ruth was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, homemaker, gifted musician and composer whose contributions to international churches and organizations are too numerous to be counted.

Naomi Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Loran, their son Victor Vanden Oever (Jennifer) of Franklin, TN and daughter, Sarah Vanden Oever who welcomed her with joy to Heaven. She will be deeply missed by her surviving children: Melody Vanden Oever-Perrin of Esdaile, WI; Lora Vanden Oever (Dwight Grimsley) of Golden, CO; David Vanden Oever (Felice) of Aurora, CO; Naomi Vanden Oever Wothke (Daniel) of White Bluff, TN; and Rachel Vanden Oever Tiskevics (Donald) of Pella, IA. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and multitudes of treasured extended family and foster grandchildren.

A Celebration of life will be held at the Dickson Funeral Home on Saturday, January 11. Visitation is from 12 PM-1:30 PM with the service to follow. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. https://www.dicksonfuneralhome.com

A memorial service in her hometown of Otley, IA will be held at a later date, with details to follow. A private goodbye was held in Esdaile with those who loved her deeply.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Ellsworth.
