Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, July 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Bro. Randy Franklin will officiate. Place of rest will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in McEwen, TN. Visitation will be Monday evening, July 12, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday beginning at 12 Noon until time of service.
Doug, age 83, of Dickson, TN died Friday evening July 9, 2021 at St. Thomas Hickman Nursing Home.
Ralph Douglas Edmisson was born in Dickson County, son of the late Emmett Lee and Myrtle Hall Edmisson. He was preceded in death by his brother and sisters, Tommy Edmisson, Betty Gilliam, Katherine Thompson, and Marie Brown. Before retirement, he was a supervisor for the former Schrader’s. He worked with them for 39 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 6 years. Doug was of the Baptist faith and attended the Bethel Baptist Church.
Doug loved the out of doors. He was an avid hunter. Also, one of his favorite times of the year was when wheat threshing season was in. Both hunting and wheat thrashing was done with his longtime friend Earl Gray.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years; Sue Stewart Edmisson of Dickson, TN, his daughter; Amy Edmisson, his brother; Kenneth Edmisson and his wife, Joyce of Dickson, TN, his sisters; Mildred Penoli of El Paso, Texas, Peggy Anderson of Dickson, TN and Sandra Whittinghill and her husband, Wade of Dickson, TN, several nieces, and nephews. Also, surviving is his furry four-legged family member Coco.
