He was a graduate of Dickson County High School, Class of 1966. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy Reserve. He attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he received his B.S. and later received his master’s degree in business administration.

Neill was a Dickson County businessman involved in the lumber business where he served as President of Vanleer Hardwoods prior to his retirement. He loved Dickson and serving his community.
