Roy “Preston” Holt, age 82, of Dickson, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024, at NHC Healthcare in Dickson.
Mr. Holt was born on June 24, 1942, in Clarksville, Tennessee, to the late Roy & Johnnie Mitchell Holt.
He was retired from State Industries. He loved bluegrass music and danced with Ralph Sloan & The Tennessee Travelers for 14 years. Mr. Holt was a member of Stroudsville Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Holt; son; Rob Roy Holt; and brother, Mitchell Holt.
He is survived by his son, Ronald (Tabitha) Holt; daughter, Laura Reeder; brother, Roger Dale Holt (Judy); sister, Brenda Gayle Holt (John); 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 o’clock pm, on Wednesday, August 14th, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Bro. Gene Brown officiating.
Following the funeral service, Mr. Holt’s remains will be cremated.
The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 11:00 AM until the hour of service at 1:00 PM.
