Veronica Alberta Nunley Grigsby was born on February 21, 1945 and finished her journey on November 21, 2022.
A long journey of illness took a toll on her body for many years, But God has given Veronica her wings to fly. Our memories will comfort us for days and years to come.
Her parents Birdie Brown Nunley & Allen Nunley proceeded her in death along with siblings, Mary Lou Marsh, Carolyn Hogan, Dorothy Grimes, Betty Hughes, Thomas Nunley, Bill Brown, Alline Nunley, Willie B House, Della Gordon, & adopted sister Hattie Pearl Hannah.
Veronica (Bunny) accepted and served God at the Original Church of God under Rev. James Satterfield Sr. She remained a member upon his passing and served at Greater Faith Original Church of God under Rev. James Satterfield III. She was a member for 60+ years.
Our Mother was known for her talent and ability of making people laugh, smile, have fun and live life to the fullest, and always doing so while making sure to put others before her own needs.
Veronica was married to Sherman Grigsby. Veronica had 3 daughters Juanita Nunley, Valerie Joyce Grigsby, Vivian Grigsby Hines; her adopted son/nephew, Michael Grimsley (big Mike). She also had 5 step-children, Michael Grigsby, Marshall Grigsby, Maccie Grigsby-Coleman, Evone Grigsby, Madline Grigsby. She had 2 granddaughters, Lashae Grigsby & Ericka Hines and 2 great-grandchildren, Bentley Cole Smith & Memphis Lamar Mcoy. She leaves behind 3 sisters, Delores Corlew, Myrtle Pollard, Yvonne Annette Yarbrough.
Veronica leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews; devoted brothers-in-law; and numerous other devoted, caring and loving friends and relatives.
A funeral service was held at the Taylor Funeral Home on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 1:00 PM with Pastor James Satterfield giving the eulogy. Place of rest will be in the East Dickson Cemetery. There will not be a family visitation before the service begins. http://taylorsince1909.com
