Walter “Neal” Street, age 79, of Dickson, TN, passed from this life on January 20, 2023, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
He was born in Dickson County on August 24, 1943, to the late William Hugh and Myrtle Louise Street.
Neal was a good and honest man. He was kind, gentle, and he sincerely felt for others. He was married for nearly 60 years to his wife, Mrs. Opal Dotson Street. He was a family man and was always more than willing to help anyone he met at the drop of a hat.
He was very hard working, having worked at Red Kap Industries for many years. He loved music, writing songs, and telling stories. He was also very resourceful; he would use duct tape on anything that was broken, torn, or worn, including his socks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: Stanley Todd Street; and his brother: Billy Street.
Survivors include his loving wife, Opal Street; his daughter-in-law: Kimberly Ann Street; his granddaughter: Jenna Lois Street; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Darin Jenson and Bro. Jason McInally officiating. Interment will follow in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will take place on Monday, January 23, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. http://taylorsince1909.com
