Willa Naomi Bell was born December 24, 1964, to the loving parents of Emma and Wilford Collier. Willa was the point guard of the Charlotte Tigers basketball team. She devoted over 30 years to Red Cap/VF Image Wear Outfitters as an embroider machine operator.
She found Christ and was baptized at an early age. Willa united with Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of her mother and father where she began singing at the age of 5 years old. Willa was known for her angelic voice, singing at local community events, job events, and award shows.
Willa toured with very known artists such as Harvey Watkins, the Canton Spirituals, Orlando Draper, Rance Allen, Vicki Winans, Pam Crawford, Lulu Roman (Hee-Haw), Lawrence Thompson, Chris Jasper from the Isley Brothers, Derick Lee, and Naomi and Wynonna Judd. She sang with Anointed Voices, Music City Mass Choir, Union Choir, Nashville City District and West Nashville District Choir, Friends, and Family choir, and the WWB Community Choir.
She was an original member of the W.W.B. Singers who kept the ministry alive and moving forward since the group originated in the 1990s in the living room of Mother Jenetta Wimberly. In the year 2021, Willa recorded her hit song; Never Alone written by Mother Marie Babb. The song ranked number 3 on the Internet Gospel Music charts. She was nominated and obtained several awards throughout her singing career.
Willa is preceded in death by her parents Emma and Wilford Collier and siblings Charles Majors, Randy Sweatt, Wade Sweatt, Helen Ford, and Clarissa (Joyce) Whitworth.
She leaves to cherish her legacy, loving memories and her wonderful children Shanell (Alvin) Love, and Latasha Bell. Her sisters, Brenda (Lawrence) Harper, Cassie (Donnie) Williams, Caroline Collier, and Elsie Sweatt. Her brothers David Timothy (Judy) Collier, Martin (Kimberly) Collier, Ralph (Dorothy) Collier, Allen Sweatt, Dale (Julie) Outlaw, Lamont (Sarah) Collier. Aunts Willie Mae Vaughn and Mary Jane Vaughn. Adopted children Nataysha, Adrianna, Cherita, Emmanuel, Erika, Joyce, Jenae, and Christina. Her grandchildren; Triple A, Alevian, Alviyah, and Alvin Love Jr., Taevian, Tatianna, Jayla, Zariah, Zalayah, Tianna, and Quay. Her namesake; Great-granddaughter Denver (Kanomi). Her Godchildren Kaylis, Aubrey, Bronson, and Chris. Devoted Friends Phyllis Williams, Gwenevere Terry, Shirley Daniels, Rita Rogan, Cynthia Rey, and Melissa Corlew. Special Devoted friend Micheal Pollard. Former and current employees of Red Cap/VF Image Wear Outfitters and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
A homegoing musical service will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at the Worley Furnace Missionary Baptist Church in Dickson. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Taylor Funeral Home and on Saturday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service, at the church. https://taylorsince1909.com
