Mr. William Charles Opfer, III, age 78 of Dickson, TN, passed away on August 31, 2025, at Centennial Medical Center of Nashville. He was born in Rockledge, PA, on February 1, 1947, to the late William Charles Opfer, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Cassin Opfer.
Mr. Opfer was married to the love of his life, Sandra Bazzle Opfer, for over 57 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves for 6 years and retired from AT&T after 48 years of service. William had a great love for his family. He could most likely be found behind the camera, as he thoroughly enjoyed photography. He also enjoyed music.
Survivors include his loving wife: Sandra B. Opfer of Dickson; his children: Tara Opfer Drennon (Michael) of Franklin, and Scott Opfer (Jennifer) of Dickson; his sisters: Sharon Harper (Mike) of Aubrndale, FL, Karen Schlegel (Mark) of Jacksonville, FL, and Kathy Deschambeau of Kennett Square, PA; her brother: Tom Opfer of Plant City, FL; his grandchildren: Royce William Drennon (Vi), Paige Adora Johndrow (Tyler), William Scott Opfer (Alexis), and Madeline West Opfer; one great-grandchild: Emma Paige Johndrow; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Opfer’s wishes were for cremation, and there are no formal services scheduled at this time. https://taylorsince1909.com
