Wilma Jean Eldridge Cathey, age 91, of Dickson, TN passed away peacefully on November 2, 2024, at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro, TN.
She was born in Dickson County and was the daughter of the late Lewis and Melissa Tummins Eldridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Hubert Cathey in 1999. Also preceded in death by her daughter Melissa Arlene Cathey Clemons and her grandson Henry Noah Perkins.
She was a member of the Sylvia Baptist Church.
Wilma Jean was a true southern lady who walked with grace and a beautiful smile during her life. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. In the years past she worked in school cafeterias, worked with the Sears store in sales and later as a retirement job she graced herself as a sales lady at Hodges Jewelers.
She was the mother of Linda Faye Tackett (Tim), Gary Thomas Cathey (Charlean), Lewis Wayne Cathey (Leanne “Muffin”), grandmother to Jennifer (Matt), Jeremy (Jenni), Andrea, Christina, Brianna, Anthony and Josie (Thomas) and was a great grandmother to many.
A celebration of Life service will be Friday morning, November 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Dr. Jim Clardy and Rev. Clark Brown will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 7th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
