College Baseball:

Vanderbilt Commodores – Win 8-2

The Vanderbilt Commodores are officially 1 win away from another College World Series Championship. The Dores came ready to play and exploded out of the gates. They gave up 1 run to Mississippi State in the top of the 1st inning but proceeded to score 7 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. An RBI single by Rodriguez, an RBI double by Thomas, and it all wrapped up with a 3-run home run from Gonzalez. Leiter threw 6 innings and struck out 8 batters.

Cincinnati Reds: Win 12-4

         The Cincinnati Reds had a makeup game from earlier in the month against the Philadelphia Phillies last night. The Reds were led by their offensive juggernaut Nick Castellanos. Castellanos had 3 hits and 7 RBIs in the game after hitting a Grand Slam in the 7th inning. The Reds trailed 4-2 before the blast that put them up 6-4. Cincinnati added 6 more runs in the 8th inning to completely take over the game and they finished on top 12-4.

 

Nashville Predators:

         It was announced yesterday that the Nashville Predators will host the Tampa Bay Lightning at Nissan Stadium for the 2022 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series.
