White Bluff, Tennessee March 5, 2026 The Town of White Bluff is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a significant grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to support its purchase of an all- electric vehicle. This grant, totaling $160,305.00, will enable the Town of White Bluff to further its mission of updating aging equipment for our Street Department to better serve our community.
Project Overview
The grant will specifically fund the replacement of a utility truck that is 30 years old with a larger, new energy efficient vehicle. This new vehicle will have a larger cargo capacity with the ability to hold salt-spreading equipment in the winter, thereby making a substantial impact on our streets during inclement weather. In addition, the grant will provide funds for a Level 2 charging station to be installed at the Bibb-White Bluff Civic Center for community use.
Statement from Administration
“We are deeply honored to receive this grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. This support will allow us to diversify our fleet of vehicles while providing new services for our citizens” said Stephanie Murrell, Mayor of White Bluff. “After meeting with our Public Works Director, Jeff Martin, Street Department Supervisor, Scott Jordan, and staff member, Tim Reynolds, last summer, a decision was made to pursue the Medium-and Heavy-Duty Vehicles Grant application through TDEC. Staff members were able to test drive a demo electric utility truck to determine compatibility with their job functions.
