After five days of work, US-70/SR-1 will be reopening after storms downed many trees and utility lines across the highway.
Tennessee Department of Transportation crews worked with utility crews to repair the damaged poles and lines along the 11-mile stretch of US-70/SR-1.
Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers reopened the road on Dec 15 at 5 p.m. Repair work will continue along the highway throughout the week.
As always, drivers are reminded to slow down while moving through work zones to protect yourself and TDOT workers.
