Wonders Center and Science Museum to Host Astronomy Day & Star Party

Wonders Center and Science Museum in Dickson is hosting an Astronomy Day and Star Party on February 6th, beginning at 10am.

Enjoy a full day of presentations from experts on various topics throughout the day. Immerse yourself with personalized planetarium shows, full museum access (with extended hours), hands-on museum activities, and more.

Bring your lawn chair, blanket, and telescope (don’t worry, telescopes will be provided for everyone to look through!) and enjoy a star gazing party in the evening in the parking lot. See the night sky like never before!

Java Man Hot Cocoa and speciality coffee and chilli will be available for purchase.

Purchase required for the Full Astronomy Museum Day. Open 10am – 6pm

Star Gazing Party is FREE and open to the public. 6pm – 8pm

1:20pm – 1:40pm – Workshop: (Physics Experiment)

1:45pm – 2:05pm – Workshop: (Fossil Show and Tell)

2:10pm – 2:30pm – Workshop: (Different Kinds of Optics)

2:00pm – 2:30pm – Planetarium Show: Creation Through the Solar System

2:30pm – 2:45pm – Tesla Experience (2nd Opportunity)

2:35pm -3:05pm – Presentation with expert

3:10pm -3:40pm – Presentation with expert

4:00pm -4:45pm – Planetarium Interpretive Show

4:50pm -5:20pm – Presentation with expert

5:25pm -5:55pm – Presentation with expert

6:00pm -8:00pm – Star Party Outdoors (Free to the public)

6:30pm – Museum Closes

Java Man Cafe, Restrooms, and Rotunda remain open until 8pm
