After months of preparation and behind-the-scenes work, the City of Dickson is excited to announce a soft opening of the new Buckner Park addition tomorrow, December 9th. This marks the community’s first chance to explore the expanded space and enjoy the amenities many have been eagerly waiting for.
Although the area has appeared quiet from the outside, our team and the contractor have been hard at work addressing final details and ensuring everything meets ADA standards. With approvals now in place, we’re thrilled to open this new section of the park to residents.
As winter settles in, Dickson families now have a refreshed outdoor destination built for recreation, connection, and everyday enjoyment. Whether you’re looking to play, gather, or simply unwind, this new space is ready to welcome you.
The latest additions include:
* Tennis courts – dual marked for pickleball
* Basketball courts
* A pavilion with restrooms
* A fenced playground for children
Park hours are from Sunrise to 10pm
This week’s soft opening offers an early preview of the park’s improvements, with a formal grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony planned for Spring 2026.
