Dickson Administrative Offices and Buildings Closed January 10

All City of Dickson administrative offices and buildings are closed today, January 10, due to weather conditions.

Emergency services such as police, fire and communications will continue standard operations.

The Public Works Department will treat and clear streets based on safety priorities.

Dickson County Schools, as well as, surrounding counties are closed as well.

The National Weather Service has placed Middle Tennessee under a Winter Storm Warning until 6am Saturday. Major travel impacts are expected Friday as snow spreads across the area. Travel will still be tricky in the coming days as a pattern of thawing and refreezing will keep travel conditions hazardous in some areas for several days. This includes rural and secondary roads, sidewalks, and parking lots.

The heaviest snow will fall late Friday morning through Friday evening. The snow will fall at rates near 1 inch per hour at times. This will result in poor visibility and rapidly worsening travel conditions
Four to six inches of snow will be common with some locally higher amounts.
