William Ward Burgess, 80 years of age, of Iron City, TN, passed away on January 3, 2025, at Waynesboro Post and Acute Rehabilitation Center.
William was born March 12, 1944, in Dickson, TN, to the late Robert and Mildred (Brown) Burgess.
William never met a stranger. He was kind, a great provider, and a friend to all. His favorite color was blue and he had 3 cats. He loved to help the community with events, especially when there was a fish fry. He built computers and was extremely smart. He attended Free Will Baptist Church. He worked for 7 years at the Friendly Neighbor Store. He was employed by TN Gas Pipeline for 23 years, and and he worked for the State of TN for 11 years.
He is survived by his wife, Willie Frances Burgess and special friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by grandparents, Barney Burgess, Ada (Ferrell) Burgess, Zach Brown and Mary Cass Harrell.
Visitation and Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Dickson Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Tim Hanback officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
