Dickson County Fire Rescue has received a grant of more than $35,000 from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation to purchase lifesaving extrication equipment. More Local Living News
The grant will fund a new cutter, spreader and related accessories, replacing aging tools and strengthening the department’s ability to respond to motor vehicle crashes, structural collapses and other emergencies.
The lightweight, portable equipment will allow first responders to reach difficult areas more quickly while providing the updated technology needed to meet modern rescue demands.
“The extrication equipment granted through the Foundation will allow us to respond to emergencies that are difficult to access due to their light weight and portability,” Dickson County Fire Rescue Chief Scotty Harrell said in a release. “We are so grateful to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation for supporting us and helping us keep the Dickson community safe.”
Since 2005, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has awarded more than 7,200 grants totaling over $109 million to public safety organizations nationwide.
