Dickson Street Festival

Downtown Dickson is once again offering the community a fun day on June 24 filled with food, artisans, music, a beer garden, a kid’s zone, four stages of music and entertainment, and ending with fireworks. The Dickson Street Festival will fill much of downtown. It is sponsored by Daltile, Zander’s, Blankenship CPA Group, Historic Downtown Dickson, and more. The event begins at 12:00 p.m. and ends at 10:00 p.m.

This is the third year of the festival. It has grown every single year. This year there will be close to 100 booths, 25 food booths, and 15 bands on four stages. Bands will play from 12:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

“There will be all different types of genres,” said Michael Shepherd, Event Coordinator for Downtown Dickson Association on WKRN. “From country to rock, a little bit of punk, to some alternative, some Americana type stuff. Some local bands. Some out of Nashville. We are going to have a community area too with local songwriters, high school dancers and things like that.”

The North Main Stage will feature Yonder Grove, Jed Harrelson, Brand and Brooks, Naughty Input, Jason Grove, Barney Wells and the Ramblin’ Souls. On the South Main, the lineup will be Josey Clay, Station Joe, Lone Waite, Aconundrum, The Keepers and Aaron Sizemore. On the Holland Park Stage, performers will be Alex Pierce, The Relics, Vicki Nova, Carli Colllura, Michael Lisenby and Echo Pilot. The Community Stage will focus on local talent, including Quest Center, Reading Rock Books, Dickson County High School Fine Arts Camp, Dickson County High School Dance Team, Ellen Alvin Dance Exchange, Andy Mead and Raihanna Estrada. Performances will run between half an hour and an hour. Check the schedule on their Facebook page.

Two big kids zones will also be a part of the event. Offerings in these areas will include games, face painting and hair braiding, bounce houses, and more.

Dickson is really growing, and the festival was started to show off the city. There are more than 100 businesses in the downtown area, and the city and county are thriving with much to offer visitors. Only 45 minutes from Nashville and an hour from Columbia, the event makes a great day trip.

Local restaurants and shops will also be open during the festival. Many of the restaurants will be offering special foods and shops will be having sidewalk sales.
