Carlos Lopezarreola, 66 years of age, of Dickson, TN, passed away unexpectedly Monday morning, October 27, 2025.
He was born June 11, 1959, in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to the late, Jesus Lopez Perez and Elvira Lopez Arreola. He moved from Mexico to El Paso, Texas, where he resided before moving to Dickson. He loved life and he cared about the ones that he loved. He was generous and selfless. He was always smiling. He was a jokester. He loved being on the water, whether on a cruise ship or on his personal boat with family and friends. Carlos was an amazing cook, He touched a lot of hearts and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Carlos earning an electronic technician diploma followed by an Associates Degree of Occupational Studies from the Electronic Technical Institute in Denver, Colorado. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1976 to 1983. Throughout his service, he was recognized for his exceptional conduct and sharpshooting abilities, receiving accolades that included the Air Assault Badge, two Good Conduct Medals, an Overseas Service Ribbon, and the title of Sharp Shooter. Following his honorable discharge, Carlos worked for 33 years as a truck driver.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Oscar Cantu. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 20 years, Susan Lopezarreola; step-mother, Teresa Lopez; five children, Richard Lopez, Fernando (Christy) Lopez, Javier (Kari) Lopez, Lazaro (Adriana) Lopez, Catalina (Eric) Robledo, and mother of his children, Silvia Alarcon; three step-children, Angela (Kris) Goodson, Damien (Kristyn) Decker, and Andrew Decker; siblings, Lazaro (Rosa) Lopez, Cecilia Lopez-Arreola, Brenda Lopez, Laura Lopez, Edgar Cantu, and Gerado Cantu; twelve grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Gathering will be at Dickson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Friday, November 7, 2025, from 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., with remarks and Military Honors at 6:00 P.M.
