Lonie Bell Turman, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at the age of 89, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN.
He was born December 5, 1935, in Franklin, TN, to the late Felix L. and Ruby (Ragsdale) Turman. Lonnie was a Retired U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. His sense of duty led him to proudly serve in the United States Army, where he honed his skills at Signal Repair School, as he was a Radar repairman.
He was a beacon of strength and love to his family, especially his granddaughters, who saw him as a true role model and a wonderful father figure. Lonnie will be remembered as the sweetest man in the world, someone who always enjoyed a good laugh, a jokester, and very hardworking. He was known to be patient, kind, and caring. He enjoyed westerns, with “The Rifleman” being his all-time favorite. He enjoyed traveling and picking his guitar.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Helen G. Turman; children, David Dean Turman and Kathy Haney; brothers, Felix Lee Turman, Jr., and Thomas A. Turman; and sisters, Dorothy Dillon, Annie Lou Bentley, Daisy Dye, Irma June Smith, Judy Crowder, and Mary Wilson. Those left to cherish his memory are his Beloved, Margaret Jones; brother, James A. Turman; sisters, Violet Shelby and Ida Pearl Beard; grandchildren, Brandi (Michael) Carter, Lora (Ricky) Owens, Stephanie (Kevin) Boyce, and Amelia (Josh) Hodges; great-grandchildren, Coby (Meredith) Cima, Matthew (Autumn) Owens, Sierra Carter, Chloe Carter, Luke Owens, McKinleigh Boyce, Allie Boyce, and Hailey Boyce; and great-great-grandchildren, Kyden Russell, Louis Blake Cima, and Nico Cima.
The family would like to extend a special “Thank you” to The Pearl at Fairview, Amelia Taylor, and Alive Hospice, for the wonderful care Mr. Turman received.
