Derrick Ray Tilghman, age 54 of Charlotte, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.
Derrick was born on December 3, 1968 in Dickson, TN. He was a son of the late Coleman Ray Tilghman and the late Patricia Osborne Buchanan.
He was a skilled custom tile installer and was well known for his work in the middle TN area. Derrick was caring and protective of his family and his pets. He loved riding and working on motorcycles. He enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, fishing, and spending time around the Harpeth River.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Buchanan, his father; Coleman Tilghman Sr.; his brother, Christopher Tilghman; grandparents, Coleman and Frances Tilghman, and Hardy Osborne; great-grandmother, Christine Hamilton.
Derrick is survived by his sisters, Staci Jones (Don), and Becky Tilghman; brother, Coleman Ray Tilghman Jr.; his children, Angela Fortner (Charles), and Christina Tilghman; his grandchildren, Haley Tilghman, Holden Fortner, and Hadley Fortner; grandmother, Yvonne Stroud; niece and nephews, Kelsey Shelton (Sam), Dalton Jones (Cassidy), Tyler McRee, and Blake McRee; great nephews and niece, Christopher Jones, Cole Shelton, and Riverlyn McRee. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as his pets, Ed and Girl Kitty.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the Taylor Funeral Home. Place of rest will be in the Petway Community Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Sunday from 12:00 noon until the time of service. http://taylorsince1909.com
