Ida SuEllen Webster Westerman, age 90, of Dickson, TN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at her home.

She was born in Nashville, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Rev. Vernon and Grace Webster.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Roger Lee Westerman; and her brothers, Carlton Webster, Paul Webster, Darrel Webster, and Preston Webster.

She loved teaching children, caring for those that grieved, and serving her family. Helping people with her time, talents, and resources brought her tremendous joy. She loved supporting local charities and was an avid deal hunter at the Dickson County Help Center and Goodwill, finding homes for her deals after the purchase.

Mrs. Westerman was a dedicated counselor. Serving as a school counselor and county school psychologist for more than 20 years, she never faced a need she wasn’t prepared to meet – creatively when necessary. She started and led Grief Counseling sponsored by Taylor Funeral Home for an additional 25 years. Strangers you meet who knew her will be quick to tell you how Mrs. Westerman helped them in one way or another. She attended Austin Peay University, where she received her Masters in Education. Mrs. Westerman enjoyed her time teaching classes at Austin Peay University and Nashville State.

She will be missed fiercely by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren because she loved them fiercely. She was “Monner” to an extended web of family and friends, a title she carried proudly. Her quick wit and gentle humor stayed with her through her last days.

She was a member of Sylvia Baptist Church and cultivated friendships and relationships with pastors and churches – again, helping whenever she could.

Survivors include her sons: Robert Neal Westerman and his wife, Carmen; John Mark Westerman and his wife Claire, her special son; Paul Tucker and her special daughter Kim Farler, her brothers; Daniel Webster, David Webster, Glenn Webster and Kenneth Webster; her grandchildren: Aaron Westerman and wife Amber, Amanda Decker and husband Tim; Danielle Bryson and her husband, Spencer; Parker Lee Westerman and wife Macee, John Micah Westerman and wife Sarah and Jeremy Baker and wife Amanda; great-grandchildren: Austin Mathis and wife Brittney, Griffin, Savannah, Abby, Caroline, Sam, Amber Dawn, Willow Grace, Helen, Amos, Roger, Haddon, Silas and Nora.
