James Lewis “Jimmy” Mayfield, age 74 of Dickson, TN passed away Monday May 12, 2025.
Born in Dickson, TN he was the son of the late Louis Junior and Evie Hazel Walton Mayfield and was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Priscilla Elaine Eslick Mayfield; his son, Jamie Mayfield; his son-in-law, Jason Wren.
He was a retired Truck driver and had driven for Holland trucking. Jimmy was a good provider for his family who put his children through Christian schools and was wonderful caretaker for his wife. Jimmy was a hard-working man who was selfless and made sure when the kids were growing up, they honored their mother and father. He never smoked or drank and wanted no part of technology. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed taking his nieces and nephews hunting whenever possible. Jimmy loved his dogs and cats. He was very faithful in church and was a member of Bethel Baptist of Dickson, TN.
Survivors include his son, Billy Mayfield of Waverly, TN; daughters, Paula Mayfield McCutchen (William) of Dickson, TN, Connie Mayfield Wren of Waverly, TN; sisters, Marie Elkins of White Bluff, TN, Fay Bratcher (John) of Smithville, TN; 3 grandchildren, Savannah Mayfield, Bob Mayfield (Josie), Richie Zolot; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 12 PM from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Franklin officiating. Place of rest will be in the Jackson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, May 18th, from 2 to 8 PM and on Monday from 10 AM until time of service. https://taylorsince1909.com
