Laura Suzanne Thomas, 65 years of age, passed away December 10, 2025, at TriStar Horizon Medical Center.
Laura was born August 20, 1960, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, to the late Frederick Marlar and Janice (Vansickle) Marlar.
She was known for her kindness and love for her family, grandchildren, and her spiritual community. Laura loved being a “Nana.” She was a cat lover and enjoyed taking care of her kittens. She was a caregiver for her family members as health issues presented themselves. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Emily Lopez; and sisters, Tracie Chisu and Holly Hernandez. Those left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Alesia Thomas and Camilla Lopez; brother, Jason Marlar; and sister, Carla Marlar.
