Leslie “L.C.” York, age 82, of Charlotte, Tennessee, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 13, 2024.

He was born in Lafayette, Tennessee, on January 21, 1942, to the late Eugene York and Beulah Pearl (Wright) York.

He served in the United States Army. He worked in construction for James Atkins, worked for TVA, and owned his own business with York Metal Buildings. He worked on antique cars and loved going to car shows and flea markets. L.C. made sure to have a garden every year.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Beulah York; wife, Monna Jean Campbell York; brother, Earl Bedford York; and sisters, Ana Dee Sullivan, Beulah Jean Buttrey, Frances Lee Hargrove, Ruby Mae Krantz, and Mary Wright.

He is survived by his partner of over 25 years, Linda Pearl Connell; daughters, Pamela Lynn York and Teresa Murrell (English); sister, Lola Rice; grandchildren, Heather Lynn Gilliam, Dallon Jareth Morrison, “C.J.” McCoy, Elyse Washington (Jeremiah), Heather Murrell, Sarah Murrell, and Jacob Murrell (McKayla); and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Debra Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson’s Chapel Cemetery in Charlotte, Tennessee. Visitation will be on Thursday. February 15, 2024 from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. and resume Friday from 9 a.m. until the service hour of 11 a.m.
