Lloyd J. “L J” Helmuth, age 75 of Dickson, TN passed from this life at his home, Monday morning, May 27, 2024, after battling cancer.
He was born in Washington, IA on January 25, 1949. At the age of 10 his family moved to Leon, IA where he later met and married RoseMary Helmuth on August 20, 1969. They enjoyed 54 years together. In 1977 he moved his family to Whiteville, TN where he resided for 43 years.
He was ordained Deacon in 1978 and served until 2012 when he semi-retired from the ministry. In 2020 he moved to Dickson, TN where he resided until his death. In earlier years he was a farmer and carpenter, but his latest job as a log truck driver, he thoroughly enjoyed.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, children, and grandchildren: his wife, RoseMary Helmuth; his children, Ferman of Harrisonburg, VA; Ernie (Danelle Helmuth) of Dickson, TN and their children: Nicole, Jared, Vivian, and Kari; Ellen (Mark Yoder) of Dickson, TN and their children: Jordan, Chloe, and Jenson; Nevin (Tina Wengerd) of Slainesville, WV and their children: Kaiden, Karson, and Asher; and Quintin of Whiteville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Eli C. and Fannie (Miller) Helmuth; and 2 grandchildren, Trevor Yoder and Emily Helmuth.
