Mary Elizabeth McClure was born October 21, 1938, in Humphreys County, TN to Martin and Thelma Damesworth. She departed this life on June 22, 2025. Elizabeth married Clint McClure, her loving partner of 68 years, on November 13, 1956.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Rochelle and Alvin Damesworth, her granddaughter Hannah Elizabeth James, and her grandson William Ross McClure.
She leaves behind her husband Clint, her son William Timothy McClure (Connie), daughter Rhonda Kay James (Jamie), grandson Jordan Gavin James (Jeanie), granddaughter Lauren Beth Patterson (Alex), and 4 great grandchildren, Hudson and Aubrey Patterson, and Easton and Elliott James.
Elizabeth loved God with all her heart and was a faithful member of Oak Avenue church of Christ for over 50 years. She was a wonderful cook and was known for showing up with something good to eat if someone had a need or a coconut cake during the holidays. If you were especially lucky she would show up with chicken and dumplings and sometimes even fried pies.
Elizabeth will be missed by her family and her many friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June, 24, 2025 between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM, and on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 1:00 PM until the time of service. Funeral services for Elizabeth will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Peeler officiating.
