Royce Dale Stokes, age 65, of Dickson, TN, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN.
He was born Dec. 24, 1956, in Dickson, the son of Coyce Alton Stokes and Peggy Jones Stokes.
He graduated from Dickson County High School and attended Austin Peay State University and Nashville Technological Institute before joining his father in running the family business, Stokes Steel and Construction Inc. Royce later became the President and CEO of Stokes Steel and continued his work in construction as a consulting site manager of numerous projects throughout Middle Tennessee and the southeast United States.
Royce approached each day of his life with an unrivaled work ethic and an endless appreciation for what could be accomplished by honest, tireless effort. He was an avid lover of the outdoors and often found the most satisfying peace in quietly enjoying the wonders of nature with family or close friends. He was a man of few words, but those words were always the truth.
He is survived by his wife Dianne Stokes of Dickson; his son Jered (Melanie) Stokes and his grandsons Ethan, Eli, Elliot, and Emmett Stokes of Colorado Springs, Co., his parents Coyce and Peggy Stokes of Dickson; his sisters Jacqueline (Robert) England of Dickson, Shalia (Monty Joe) Lankford of Franklin, Jeana (Jim) Jackson of Dickson, Julia (Jerone) Holt of Dickson, Sonya (Drason) Beasley of Franklin; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 6, 2022, at 4:00 PM from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Tom McCoy and Jered Stokes officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 PM until time of service. http://taylorsince1909.com
